Trouble Not The Master

Luke 8:49

Intro: They came to Jarius and said, “Trouble not the Master.” In other words, it’s too late now for it to do any good. There is no need to bother him. He can not do what he had planned. He can not work the miracle that he had scheduled. Trouble Not The Master- It’s too late now. Four times in this chapter it looked like it was too late, but Jesus took over. Where we stop, that’s where he begins. When hope is all gone, help is on the way. He might not come when you call him, but he will always be right on time! It is not a bother to him; you are not troubling him, and it is not too late! It appeared it was:

I.       Too Late For The Ship: v. 22-25

Old time church- It’s headed to the other side. We’re going regardless of the winds and the waves, for He’s on board. Winds are contrary, but we are not going under, we’re going over.

In the sea they were afraid, but he was asleep. I know that he never slumbers nor sleeps, but some have let him go to sleep in their lives. It’s time to awake the master; it’s time to call on him. It’s not too late.

Other little ships followed. He saved them too. Our children are following. If we call on the master, awaken the sleeping Boaz in our lives, he will save them too!

II.    Too Late For The Sinner: v. 26-39

Gadera was a land of idolatry. Worshipped all kinds of things, but when Legion went too far, they did not know what to do. They did not understand what the problem is. The world loves sin socially, but they will turn on their own when they exceed the socially acceptable limit of it. The truth is that all sin is wrong.

He was naked. Many today have gotten the idea that it is alright to go unclothed. In grandpa’s day they wore clothes, and they did not have the fornication, adultery, and other sexual perversity in the rate that we have it. This has even affected the church. It should be a haven for the lost, but they even have to fight those sinful lusts here.

Thought that Jesus had showed up too late to do him any good. When he did, the people got angry. They had rather have hogs than a saved man- a real Christian.

Jesus came from across the sea. He gave me a new garment, a new heart, a new mind, and when I wanted to go home with him, He said not now. Go tell others what I have done for you. It’s not too late for them either!

III.  Too Late For The Sick: 2 instances

1.      v. 43, while Jesus was headed to Jarius’ house, the woman with the issue came. Said in her heart, “Touch him- not touch the crowd, but him.” Sin rages for saints have not touched him! She was restored by the virtue of Christ.

2.      v. 49, they said it is too late. Jarius’ daughter was as old as this woman’s issue of blood, but it was not too late for either of them! The crowd mocked Jesus when he came into them room, but it is not too late for your children when Jesus is in the house!
