INTRODUCTION: When we look at this scene we see a woman with an issue of blood. We see her trouble, her travail,
His touch, and then her triumph.
I. Notice Her Curse: v. 25
A.
She was sick: If a man loses blood one day one week one month, he would
be terribly weak. But here is a woman that has lost blood for 12 years. She is typical of a sinner who is sick from the top
of his head to the bottom of his feet with the disease of sin. Isa 1:5-6, “The whole head is sick, and the whole
heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying
sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.”
B.
She was searching: v. 26. She had spent all she had and was none better,
and today many are trying all kinds of doctors and remedies that will never help them. Some try Dr. Morality, Dr. Religion,
Dr. Do-Better, Dr. Church Membership, Dr. Baptism, Dr. Lodge Membership, Dr. Give-to-Charity. But those doctors will let you
die and go to hell. You need the Great Physician, Dr. Jesus!
II.
Notice Her Courage: v. 27-28
A. She had to go over the curse: Mosaic Law. The woman during her issue of blood was not to come in contact with anyone, for she
was ceremoniously unclean. Had she not been healed and had been caught among them, people would have surely scorned her.
B.
She had to go over the crowd: excitement surrounded Christ, but she had
a need. Have you ever seen a time when it seemed like all others were rejoicing and excited, but you had to get beyond that
to address the Lord about your need?
C. She had to go with her conviction: She was convinced that no one else could help her. She was desperate.
III.
Notice Her Contact: v. 27, She touched Him.
A. Gave her victory: like sparks from smitten steel. When she touched him sparks began to fly and victory over her ailment was granted!
B.
By His virtue: He said virtue (power) is gone out of me. Victory is by
and through our Lord Jesus Christ.
IV. Notice Her Cure: v. 29
A.
It was immediate: straightway
B.
It was inspiring: v. 29, she felt it. You will know!
Conclusion: Have you ever been touched? Have you ever touched him? Has he ever touched you? Do you know what
it is for the Great Physician to heal your disease? Did you know the Bible says He “healeth all thy diseases”?
Ps. 103:3. If you have been healed of your infirmity as an unforgiven sinner, you can still carry all your other afflictions
to him. He heals ALL your diseases! Do you need to touch him? Do you need him to touch you?
